**About the role**:

**About you**:
Reporting to the Birkenhead Terminal Manager, this role is responsible for the supervision & relief of the operations team as necessary. It requires adherence to Bitumen Plant Operations procedures to ensure readiness to supply our customers and maintain the plant in a safe and clean condition. Importantly, in this role you will play a key role in providing leadership of health, safety, security and environment.

**Key responsibilities**
- Perform routine gantry and tank farm operations in accordance with documented Work Instructions and Procedures (e.g bitumen sampling, valve line-ups, routine plant surveillance & housekeeping, releasing bitumen tanks to market & performing routine Tank-Tank transfers via heat exchanger systems)
- Maintain roster and co-ordinate team to ensure cover as required
- Manage product receipts from ships into the terminal
- Lead the development of the operations team
- Operate and monitor process equipment such as tanks, pipelines, pumps, truck loading equipment, instrumentation and PLC control systems
- Liaise with sales team to ensure customer needs and safety are managed
- Perform dispatch role duties when required
- Write Safe Work Permits and Work Clearances for contractors on site
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance activities
- Lead in HSSE activities
- Identify areas for improvement in the plant operations

**Qualifications and Skills**:
