- Work closely with Group Treasury and Business Groups to support delivery of complex group-wide transactions and initiatives from an accounting perspective, gaining exposure to all aspects of the transaction, from due diligence activities (including review of legal entity holding structures, entity balance sheets and earnings profiles and valuation support), specific technical accounting treatments and internal approval support through to efficient and timely execution of the transaction in the Macquarie General Ledger, ensuring accurate and appropriate disclosures in the Macquarie Group accounts.
- Support the delivery of required financial regulatory reporting change initiatives and new reporting requirements, working with numerous stakeholders to ensure the requirements are clearly understood, the reporting produced is accurate and a sustainable long-term operating model is delivered.
- Support the delivery of group finance data initiatives, including ensuring data requirements are understood and appropriate governance structures are in place to deliver timely and accurate data downstream
- Partner with senior leadership in Group Finance and Business Finance to ensure an appropriate control environment is embedded across finance, identifying metrics which support the identification of emerging areas of risk.

To be successful in the role, you will enjoy operating in a fast-paced environment and be energised by the opportunity to support the delivery of dynamic business solutions which add real value to the group. Ideally you will have worked in financial services or audited financial services companies and have an exposure to financial instruments. You will thrive working in an environment with evolving priorities, which requires an innovative mindset. You will also possess:
- A Commerce/Accounting degree and professional accounting qualifications.
- Strong communication skills, with a genuine willingness to collaborate across the group.
- An adaptable and agile mindset, within a genuine interest in understanding Macquarie’s corporate structure and the regulatory environment in which the group operates.
- An analytical and risk mindset.
- Strong problem solving and good attention to detail.
