Hikma House is looking for an experienced support worker to assist with respite care in a short term accommodation (STA) homes around Melbourne.

We are looking for staff able to commit to ongoing support of our clients, who are loyal, reliable and treat our clients like they would their own family.

We have a variety of shifts available which include Morning, Afternoon and Midnight shifts. Support includes weekends shifts.

Tasks include:

- Able to use hoist safely
- Personal care assistance
- Assistance with Medication
- Meal planning and preparation
- Cleaning, laundering, ironing and light household duties
- Organizing outings, activities and games.
- Companionship and conversation
- Other tasks as per requirement

You will need these essential requirements:

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Community Support or working to the equivalent
- Mental Health Training (Desirable)
- Medication Training
- NDIS Screening Check
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Current National Police Certificate
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Australian drivers license (International license not accepted)
- Access to a car
- Minimum of 12 months work related experience in similar role (Desirable)
- Availability and work any day of the week, including weekends.
- Covid Vaccination - Dose 1, Dose 2 and Booster ( Essential)

Causal hours: 20-40 per week

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $35.00 - $43.07 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to wear masks in their shifts, hand hygiene and infection control training essential

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- NDIS screening check (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)
- Certificate in Disability or Individual Support (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)
- Overnight Shift (preferred)
