**About the Role**

Three Areas of Support:
Household Support
As a disability support worker, you will provide support services for participants in their living environment. Depending on a participant's disability, support will include assistance with domestic chores such as, cooking, cleaning and transport. You will also be required to assess the safety of the area and assist with developing the participant's independence.

Personal Care Support
Crucial to your role as a disability support worker is the provision daily personal care for people with disabilities. These tasks may include helping them to maintain general hygiene, dressing or supporting them through their disability programs. The level of support you would provide depends on the needs of your participant.

Emotional Support
People living with disabilities may feel isolated or withdrawn from society due to their inability to connect with others. You will need is to be patient and understanding as well as compassionate and empathetic to your participants.

**Essential**
- Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
- Reliable character.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals.
- Ability to work in a very busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a team.
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- A cleared Working with Children Check and National Criminal Record Clearance.
- NDIS Worker Screening.
- Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualification

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviours is viewed favourably.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 38 per week

**Salary**: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

- Brunswick, VIC 3056: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)

- National Police Certificate (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)

Work Authorisation:
