- The Ladder Project Foundation (Ladder) provides development and mentoring programs to disadvantaged young people, who may also be disengaged from employment and/or education. Founded over a decade ago by AFL players and is the official charity of the AFL Players’ Association and charity partner of the AFL. Today, AFL players, both male and female, continue to support the organisation financially and as mentors, volunteers and advocates.With the values of sport at its core, Ladder’s programs are underpinned by evidence-based models and frameworks. Ladder programs are independently evaluated and are proven to result in real and lasting changes.

Reporting to the CEO or Executive, and working closely with the leadership team and board, the Development Manager will identify suitable funding opportunities, develop high quality funding submissions and build deep engaged relationships across government, and the philanthropic sector. This newly created role will inspire support and investment to advance the organisation’s mission.

This integral role will understand, prioritise and build an ongoing pipeline of funding opportunities from philanthropic Trust and Foundation (T&F) and Grant

You will develop compelling cases for support, build and manage an ongoing pipeline of relationships, and present opportunities to funders to partner with Ladder on strategic and innovative projects. By fostering stakeholder relationships and connecting philanthropic interests, you will secure financial support to enable greater impact and brighter futures of Ladder’s young people.

About YOU
- Self-motivated, committed and outcomes-focussed fundraising specialist
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally
- Ability to influence and build project support
- Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Australia plus understanding of the systems that underpin best
- practice philanthropic giving
- Genuine interest with supporting young people, and alignment with Ladder’s values
