The Gold Coast is an outstanding global city proudly looking towards its future, and the Crisis Management & Business Continuity Advisor will play a crucial role in providing strategic crisis and business continuity management advice. This key advisor role will work to ensure the City of Gold Coast is ready to respond to crisis events and business disruptions.

As a key member of the Risk, Integrity and Assurance Branch, this role will support the team’s goal to enhance resilience in the organisation by effectively planning, preparing, responding to and recovering from adverse events and business disruption. The Crisis Management & Business Continuity Advisor will provide strategic crisis and business continuity management advice and expertise to review, analyse, develop and implement crisis management and business continuity plans, and work with business areas to develop scenarios and run exercises to ensure the City is ready to respond to crisis events and business disruption. The role also requires an internal on-call 24/7 arrangement for crisis management and plays a vital part in managing the early stages of a crisis and timely response (the on-call arrangement will generally be 1 week in every 4 which includes an additional on-call allowance payable).

As the advisor you will contribute to the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of business continuity frameworks. You will have a strong focus on the review of critical operations as well as delivering training programs to meet the objectives of crisis management and business continuity for the City of Gold Coast. To be successful in this role you will need to have proven abilities in developing and delivering training programs, as well as experience in business continuity, crisis management or relevant incident planning and response. Strong demonstrated stakeholder engagement and communication abilities are crucial to this role, as is your experience managing projects, negotiating outcomes and facilitating end to end engagement with the business. You will have the ability to think critically, identify and analyse problems and offer solutions, and support the team to embed a positive and high-performing culture.
