Harris HMC have an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a new and dynamic team as our Essential Safety Services Manager. You will be responsible for managing a small but growing team of technicians, playing a pivotal role in establishing and growing in-house services, including Test and Tag, portable fire equipment checks, first aid inspections, and more. The ESM team forms part of our established Services division of over 100 staff specializing in commercial electrical services and building fabric maintenance and projects. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a high-performing team and drive the delivery of essential safety services to both existing and new clients.
**Reporting to the Operations Manager you will**:
- Oversee daily workloads of the ESM team, ensuring seamless client and site liaison
- Be accountable for service delivery and financial outcomes of all ESM team projects
- Support team members to ensure efficient and high-quality job completion
- Drive business growth through sales, leveraging our existing client base and exploring new opportunities
- Develop growth strategies and contribute to business planning
- Assist in tender preparation and submissions
- Recruit, onboard and train new team members as needed
- Provide detailed client reporting and manage invoicing using our job management system (Aroflo)
**To excel in this role, you’ll bring**:
- Strong experience with test and tag services
- Basic Fire services experience such as fire extinguisher / fire blanket testing
- Strong sales skills, someone who is eager to play a key part in growing the ESM team
- Excellent organisational skills to manage the team’s workload and priorities effectively
- Proficient IT skills for preparing detailed reports, Quotes, Invoicing, and for working with our Jobs management system (Aroflo)
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills to work closely with other Service and maintenance managers within our Services Division
**While not essential, the following experience will be highly valued**:
- Further Fire experience such as Hose reel or Hydrant testing
- Further ESM experience such as paths of egress / emergency lighting etc
- Experience with online jobs management system such as Aroflo or similar.
