Since 2001, Northrop Grumman has delivered Through-Life Support to the Royal Australian Air Force’s 86 Wing; 34 Squadron located at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra. The high-performing Northrop Grumman SPA (Special Purpose Aircraft) team is comprised of approximately 50 staff who provide all levels of maintenance, training and logistics support to the fleet of 2x Boeing BBJ’s and 3x Dassault Falcon 7X’s.

We are seeking a **Quality and Aviation Safety Specialist** (QASS) who will assist with monitoring the effectiveness of the Quality and Aviation Safety Management Systems, Risk and Opportunity Management and Continual Improvement Programs

This position is based at our office in Fairbairn, ACT.

**Day to day responsibilities of the role include**:

- Responsible for assisting with compliance and assurance activities with regulatory authorities and Quality Standards groups (i.e. CASA, DASR and other aviation safety bodies)
- Conduct and develop solutions to continually improve the maturity of Mission Assurance (MA) systems within the Program
- Independently perform iCAM investigations and offer solutions where applicable;
- Conduct Risk and Opportunity Management activities within the SPA Program;
- Conduct Business and Continual Improvement activities within the SPA Program
- Ensure safe working practices across the SPA Program and adhere with Corporate Environment, Health and Safety responsibilities and Standards;
- Engage with and represent Northrop Grumman Australia to internal and external stakeholders including the customer.
- Relevant education and qualifications relating Quality or Quality Management Systems backed up by Aviation qualifications.
- Good working experience in an aviation quality role working under a National Airworthiness Authority acceptable to the Defence Aviation Safety Authority.
- Experience with carrying out incident investigations, processing occurrence reports, audit reports and findings as part of a QMS.
- Knowledge of Australia and international aerospace standards and familiarisation with civil and defence safety regulations.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance to the Baseline level.
