**About the Role**
The Research Fellow will work on the development of new nano-optical devices and their integration into optical systems. The role includes designing and simulating meta-optical devices, nanofabrication, and developing methods for optical and electrical characterization. The position is within the ARC Centre of Excellence in Transformative Meta-Optical Systems, which aims to create innovative optics-based technologies. The center emphasizes diversity and inclusiveness and offers support for members with caregiving responsibilities. It fosters a collaborative and interdisciplinary culture, offering mentorship and skill development opportunities.
**Who We Are Looking For**
We are looking for people who demonstrate strong disciplinary knowledge, excellent communication and engagement skills, the ability to work collaboratively and engage positively with colleagues and stakeholders and are highly motivated to undertake high-quality research.
You will also have:
- A PhD (or close to completion of a PhD) in a relevant area of electrical and electronic engineering or physics or physical chemistry, including nanoscience or optics or materials science.
- A demonstrated aptitude for research, with a sound publication record in relevant areas, commensurate with experience and opportunities
- Demonstrated ability in experimental cleanroom nanofabrication and characterisation and/or developing and using custom optical systems
