**About the Business Unit**:
Adoption Services Victoria is part of the Civil and Enforcement Services Group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Adoption Services Victoria delivers a range of services under the _Adoption Act 1984,_ including counselling to people considering placing a child for adoption, assessing people to be approved to adopt a child from Victoria or overseas, and providing records to people who have been affected by past adoptions.

**About the Role**:
The Project Officer, Coordination and Engagement within Adoption Services may be responsible for any or all the following:
Some of your duties will include:

- Providing operational policy advice to support the performance of Adoption Services' statutory functions
- Engaging, consulting and working collaboratively with our partners across the whole of government and funded agencies to deliver on service delivery and reform projects
- Contributing to development of operational policies that support delivery of high-quality adoption services and ensure the requirements of relevant legislation are met, including the _Adoption Act 1984_ and the Commonwealth _Immigration (Guardianship of Children) 1946_

**About You**:

- Significant experience and knowledge of case planning and / or adoption related services
- A strong understanding of the Adoption Act 1984 is highly desirable
- A wealth of experience in managing projects, particularly relating to implementing public sector policy changes
- Qualifications/Requirements:_
- Highly Desirable: A recognised Social Work degree or a similar behavioural related degree which includes:

- a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma; and preferably;
- a practical component such as counselling or case work practice.
