**WHO ARE WE?**

We have participants located around the Bray Park area and are looking to grow our Employment Team

Applied Abilities delivers SLES (School Leaver Employment Support) and Finding and Keeping a job programs. We believe that every person, regardless of their disability, should have the opportunity to engage within the workforce. Our caseload comprises of youths who are about to leave school, youths who have left school and Persons with a Disability (PWD) of all ages.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:

- **Adaptability and Versatility**. No two days are the same. One day you may be assisting our participants with handing out resumes within the community and the next day, you may be working from home contacting prospective employers and following up on leads.
- **Tenacity and Outcomes focused** - our role is to assist our participants in finding and keeping a job. As an employment mentor, we leave no stone unturned in order to create these opportunities.
- **Previous experience** in Disability Employment Services or Job Active contracts, is desired, but not essential.
- **A background** in employment services, mentoring or management would be advantageous.
- **Experience in sourcing** employment opportunities; including cold canvassing
- **Experience working** with Youth and People with Disabilities is desired

**ROLE**:

- **Working with Participants to find employment and develop their ‘Job Ready’ skills**:_
- Cold Canvassing of employers
- Community and Employer Engagement
- Organising work experience and paid employment opportunities for our participants
- In work support (some participants may require support within the workplace)
- Working on communication and time management skills
- Resume and Cover letter writing
- Discovery activities
- Supporting participants in 'Our Space' programs
- Travel training - using public transport

**WHAT WE OFFER**
- Flexible Working Options Some days you will be working face to face with participants and other days you will be following up on employment leads/sourcing opportunities from home. We aim to match our working schedule to your needs.

**Our Employment Mentors will preferably be experienced** working in a similar role. (employment consultant, mental health worker, disability support, youth work)
- Have experience dealing with challenging behaviours
- Promote and develop the skills participants require to enter the workforce which includes developing their independent living skills, accessing the community
- First Aid Certificate and CPR (current)
- Current Open Driver’s license
- Own car and fully comprehensive insurance

NDIS worker screening clearance (Yellow Card), Working with Children Check (Blue Card), a National Criminal History Check,

Expected hours: 10 - 38 per week
