**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and experienced leader to fill the role of Applications Administrator role within the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Operations section.

The Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Operations section is located in the Digital Customer Services Branch, Information Services Division (ISD).

As part of the division’s responsibility to manage ICT infrastructure and delivery support services to registered users in Australian Parliament House (APH), Federal Electorate Offices (EOs) and Commonwealth Parliament Offices (CPOs).

It also has a critical role in managing and maintaining a comprehensive set of ESS equipment and assets, capabilities and controls that enable the security function at APH.

The successful applicant will support, enhance and maintain the ESS ICT (Information Communication and Technology environment.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Qualifications in Information Technology, a related discipline, and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience, are highly regarded.
- ITIL Foundations (Desirable)

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- This role requires the applicant to occasionally perform technical upgrades outside of core business hours. This work may take place on weekends or public holidays.
- This role requires the applicant to participate in a rotating on-call roster for out of hours support.
- This role requires the applicant to participate in a rotating on-site roster for on-site support (8AM - 4PM).
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Monitor to identify, investigate, rectify, and prevent ICT system issues. Provide comprehensive technical support to ensure seamless operations with the ability to prioritise and complete activities efficiently.
- Address customer service requests by investigating system problems and manages changes in accordance with best practises and guidelines.
- Provide recommendations and guidance on ICT solutions for emerging customer requirements.
- Contribute to ICT planning and design activities, including preparation, review, and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Positively support the efficient functioning and operation of ESS Operations.
- Have a highly developed understanding of risk identification and management, and well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
- The successful applicant will have a strong attention to detail and place a professional emphasis on the importance of accuracy and completeness, especially regarding written reports, and technical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with other ESS Operations teams as well as engaging with vendors, stakeholders, and other ICT teams.

3. Demonstrate ability to adhere to best practises to maintain the integrity, security, and reliability of ICT systems.

4. Demonstrate professional communication skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. Must be able to clearly and concisely articulate technical information to non-technical audiences.

5. Demonstrate experience in understanding and adhering to service request management, change management processes, procedures, and workflows, based on best practise or establish frameworks.

6. Demonstrate experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation suitable for its intended audience.
