**About the role**
Pacific National plays an important role in the freight response to Australia's growing population and expanding economy. We deliver for our customers. Our Long Term Planning team manage the solution design for customers supply chain needs and network infrastructure capacity. As a key role in the planning development area within Long Term Planning, the Infrastructure Planning Principal will gain a national view of the entire business and will interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders including Planning, Operations, Commercial, Property, Legal, and IT through to customers and vendors to Pacific National.
As a business on a growth trajectory with rail leading the way forward, if you are a professional with infrastructure planning expertise who has worked on large, long term supply chain infrastructure projects, here is where you want to be This is an impactful role to design and develop logistics and infrastructure solutions for business success, both for customer driven as well as internal Pacific National driven projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop comprehensive Master Planning tools and plans for the 0 to 10 year planning horizon, in relation to supply chain and network infrastructure capacity
- Assess supply chain and network infrastructure capacity forecasts and integrate these into collaborative planning tools and communicable plans
- Undertake capacity matching assessments and report on infrastructure capacity and capability metrics
- Assist in the development of strategic corridor strategy in relation to network and other supply chain infrastructure and interfaces
- Undertake detailed and complex analysis of geographic freight flows, rail corridors, supply chain infrastructure and associated supporting facilities for the purpose of developing Master Plans.
**About you**
You will be adept at problem solving and have a conceptual design approach as well as the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Strong communication skills to enable you to identify opportunities and mount strong arguments for change with stakeholders
- Demonstrated planning background and skills with exposure to business modelling
- Sound understanding of rail haulage/freight/transportation & logistics, experience working in the rail, heavy haulage or transport and logistics industry is advantageous
- Tertiary qualifications in business, mathematics or possibly logistics, with relevant experience from large, complex businesses
- Strong analytical skills with success in generating creative supply chain solutions for customers, translating requirements into successful business plans to improve performance and reduce cost
- Contemporary knowledge of logistics/supply chain technologies, trends and methodologies to improve system tools and business processes is desirable.
