Manufacturing Team Leader

The Manufacturing Team Leader is responsible for the manufacturing planning, assembly, test, and support of electronic systems produced by Ultra Maritime. Working closely with the engineering and support teams, this role manages the transition of products from the design phase, through to manufacturing and through life. The role is also responsible for leading a team of technicians and field service representatives to ensure products are delivered and remain available in accordance with customer needs.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring product data packages including, routings, work instructions, shop orders and tooling, are prepared with consideration of Lean Manufacturing concepts resulting in a smooth and efficient transition into manufacturing.- Supporting the definition, adaptation and implementation of manufacturing processes that are tailored to enable cost effective execution of Ultra Maritime projects.- Managing and scheduling manufacturing work force and workload to maximise Manufacturing utilisation.- Providing reports to Director of Operations detailing the manufacturing forward load and utilisation for manufacturing support repair and services.- Scheduling manufacturing activities in line with planning requirements and operator training competencies.- Providing guidance, direction, and leadership to ensure that products are manufactured to specified or appropriate level of quality in a safe, compliant, and timely manner.- Undertaking staff appraisals and conduct regular reviews, encourage, and guide personal development through individual goal setting and personal development plans.- Proactively manage the team’s performance and support them to achieve their KPI’s with the view of achieving the business objective and goals.- Manufacturing support the response to unplanned emergency, urgent maintenance, or repair requests in accordance with agreed timelines and procedures.- Participating in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Do you have...- Experience in building and managing multi-discipline teams in a Manufacturing environment.- Excellent knowledge of component assembly, both subassembly and final top-level assembly.- Knowledge and experience with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7722).- Knowledge of Engineering principles and practices.- Demonstrated understanding of Configuration Control principles in an Australian Defence environment.- Experience in managing planned and corrective maintenance processes.- Skills in working with Defence related software for configuration management, supply systems or logistics analysis.
