**The Opportunity**

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment within our fixed plant facilities. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Your role will include (but not limited to):

- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, and screens within the fixed plant.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot equipment failures, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Perform mechanical fitting tasks including assembly, disassembly, alignment, and adjustment of components and machinery.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team and departmental staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training or Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualification
- At least two years of relevant work experience
- HRL Forklift (hold or able to obtain)
- Dogging ticket (advantageous)
- Rigging ticket (advantageous)
- Experience working in a similar workshop role.
- Safety, Health & Environment awareness, and experience.
