**About the role**
As Lead, Prevention and Early Detection you will be responsible for the development and delivery of evidence-based to engage the community to reduce cancer risk and improve early detection for all Queenslanders
This role is a Permanent Full-time 37.5 hours per week
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have proven leadership skills, be able to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, manage and monitor budgets and be skilled in the development and maintenance of public health or health promotion programs.
You will also be able to contribute to the development and evaluation of a cancer prevention strategy to support Queenslanders to reduce their cancer risk, find cancer early and participate in screening.
To be successful in this role you will have proven ability to develop, implement and deliver public health or health promotion programs. You will be able to evaluate and report on the progress and success of these programs. You will also have proven skills in leadership, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
**Essential Skills**:
- Qualifications in health promotion, health science, public health or a related field, or relevant experience
- Experience in health promotion program development and project management is essential
- Demonstrated experience in responding to multiple and diverse stakeholder needs while ensuring the needs of projects are met.
- High level of leadership and coordination skills across concurrent projects or programs
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills
- Experience providing supervision, support, and training to volunteers and/or university student placements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable for a range of audiences
- Self-motivated, energetic, outstanding interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Proven ability to work independently, as a member of a team and in partnership with external organisations
**Desirable Skills**:
- Current Queensland driver’s licence is desirable
- An understanding of the impact that the diagnosis and treatment of cancer has on individuals, their partners and families
- Strong work ethic and resilience
- Ability to use sound judgment and to manage workloads within tight deadlines
- Ability to facilitate groups and provide training in individual and group settings
**Your Leadership Contribution**
