**What You Will Be Doing**
Family Peer Workers are empathetic listeners who promote hope, choice and connection in their relationships with others. The Family Peer Worker will engage and support carers both 1:1 and in group settings. They will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to improve consumer, carer and team outcomes.

Family Peer Workers employed at Peninsula Health receive professional support, training and supervision to assist them in their role.

**What You Need**

We anticipate you will have:

- Must have and be willing to work from a lived experience of caring, supporting, advocating for a loved one with mental health concerns/psychological distress and/or co-occurring MH/AOD concerns
- Have (or be undertaking) relevant Peer Work discipline qualification/training (i.e. Certificate IV in Peer Work, IPS or similar)
- Ability to work from recovery-oriented, trauma-informed approaches and support Families’ sense of dignity and self determination
