As the MOC Duty Manager you’ll be accountable for Qantas Engineering (QE) Operations working alongside the Manager IOC Operations. The MOC Duty Manager will be the primary escalation path, holder of decision rights, mediator and operational focal for QE. You will manage and lead an on-shift team of engineering specialists with the primary aim to ensure airworthiness of the Qantas fleet as well as optimising aircraft availability, on time performance and AOG recovery. Being the key operational interface between Engineering and the IOC and Flight Operations, with the authority to influence key commercial decisions.
You’ll have:
- Extensive leadership and management experience.
- Strong decision maker with ability to priories and mediate between conflicting demands / customers.
- Highly motivated, lateral thinker and planner capable of operating under pressure in a changing environment’
- Articulate two-way communicator and negotiator, able to function successfully with all target audiences.
- Committed to effective industrial relations, staff development and coaching.
- Ability to coach and mentor to support critical business decisions and cement succession plans.
- Sound understanding of Civil aviation regulations and familiar with other regulations governing industrial workforce management (OH&S) industrial relations, EEO etc.)
- Excellent communication skills both written and aural and proven people skills.
- Experience / Line Maintenance experience on company and customer aircraft or significant airline engineering commercial / planning experience.
- Tertiary training in Engineering / Business Management or Aircraft trained to LAME level.
- Willing to work flexible roster for possible 7-day operational coverage.
