
Events Manager, 12 Month Contract

Kennedys is looking for an Events Manager to join our business development and marketing team in Australia. The role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney for a 12 month contract.
This is a strategic, yet hands on role, which drives the planning and day-to-day delivery of the firm's events in Australia. The role will help improve Kennedys' brand and reputation of the firm and its lawyers.
The individual will also be part of the APAC regional team, working closely with colleagues in Singapore and Hong Kong. The role will also contribute to initiatives in the APAC region and globally.
**Team**
Kennedys global Business Development team promotes Kennedys services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets. The Australian BD team works in close collaboration with colleagues in APAC, UK, EMEA, US and LatAm on a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives.
The BD & Marketing team in Australia supports our growing office network (currently four locations). The current team covers Clients & Markets and Marketing Comms, although all team members work together to provide backup and overflow capacity as priorities and deadlines require.
**Key Responsibilities**
- End to end management and oversight of the firm's seminars/webinars and client hospitality program in Australia - especially in developing creative event ideas and opportunities to foster closer client relationships and elevate the Kennedys brand nationally.
- Manage corporate sponsorships and provide marketing leverage in social and other channels to maximise ROI.
- Manage a calendar of events across all Australia offices and socialising events via intranet and other internal channels.
- Liaise with members of business development, lawyers, office services, external venues and suppliers to ensure events are organised and delivered on time and within agreed budgets
- Work with the business development team to manage the process of creating bespoke, targeting event lists for each event.
- Leverage the CRM system (InterAction) and draw on knowledge about the firm's client base to develop recommendations on how and where to target event campaigns.
- Support business development specialists to leverage events to create client engagement opportunities.
- Set events budget and manage and track ongoing event expenses.
**Required experience**
- Previous event management experience within a professional services or large corporate environment
- Proven experience in managing and delivering multiple and current events from end to end including budget, stakeholder and supplier management
- Strong technical skills and an understanding of the process of managing webinars, virtual events and hybrid events
- Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads, manage multiple projects and negotiate deadlines
- The gravitas to influence at partner level and ability to challenge thinking
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Build strong working relationships with partners and staff at all levels
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with change

- Knowledge of CRM software (previous InterAction experience will be advantageous) is desirable
