**About the Role**:
As our new **Engineering Manager**, you'll play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence, team capability, and product innovation. Reporting directly to our CTO, you’ll lead day-to-day engineering operations, enabling strategic innovation and market-aligned product development.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- **Leadership & Team Development**:

- **Strategic Project & Resource Management**:
Implement and manage rigorous project management and resource planning processes, driving efficiency, on-time delivery, and quality outcomes.
- **Product Development & Customer Alignment**:
Collaborate closely with senior leadership, the sales team, and customers to shape the product roadmap and ensure market-led innovation that meets customer requirements and strategic goals.
- **Technology Steering & Innovation**:
Lead the formation and ongoing management of a Technology Steering Group, ensuring Speedshield remains at the forefront of industry innovation and maintains a clear, executable technology roadmap.
- **Cross-Regional Management**:
Coordinate closely with and provide oversight to our growing US-based team, ensuring alignment and consistency in processes and outcomes.
- **Financial Management & Budgeting**:
Manage the engineering budget and oversee resource allocation to maximise return on investment and ensure financial accountability

**What You'll Bring**:

- Demonstrated experience managing diverse engineering teams (ideally up to 50 engineers) within mid-sized businesses ($70-100M turnover).
- Strong background in **Electronics, Firmware, Software Development** (priority areas) with a good working knowledge of Hardware and Mechanical Engineering principles.
- Proven experience in **project management**, with formal methodologies and structured resource management experience.
- Previous experience within IoT, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics, or related heavy industry environments is essential.
- Exceptional **leadership capability**, combining technical credibility with emotional intelligence, empathy, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- The ability to **balance strategic leadership with hands-on** management.
- Proven ability to **collaborate effectively** with senior leadership, sales teams, operations, and international customers.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electronics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
