This innovative global company are seeking an entrepreneurial National Account Manager tasked with driving growth and execution of customer and category plans in line with the overall long-term category vision.
This role is an exciting challenge for a driven and commercial National Account Manager to own the strategy and relationship of a growing major national retailer. The environment is one of an entrepreneurial nature with a focus on driving category and operational solutions through innovation and utilising insights to identify opportunities for growth.
Your primary focus, along with your direct report, will be to directly manage one of the company’s largest accounts to ensure correct levels and targets are consistently maintained as well as negotiate viable, commercial business agreements. You will also be required to demonstrate sound leadership and promote a positive work culture internally whilst driving account initiatives assertively and thoroughly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently manage this major, strategic national account
- Develop, inspire and motivate a direct an account executive
- Define and achieve sales goals, budgets and margin targets
- Oversee and review daily, weekly and monthly sales reports
- Develop and refine financial modelling with key stakeholders to ensure optimal ROI (promotional investment/activity)
- Develop and Implement a clear strategy to support the commercial objectives of your account
- Develop and optimise account promotional strategy
- Collaborate with marketing on the product, range, account-specific marketing activities and other opportunities
Given the breadth of the role, you will be working on short term operational, as well as long term strategic plans. Therefore, you will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing the company's current performance against objectives and provide recommendations on ways to improve ROI and ensure execution continues to be best in class.
Further, you will own the Go to Market execution process for new products and channel activations, providing critical analytics to the monitor success of all projects within this critical and strategic major account. Charged with monitoring the success of promotional plans, you will also provide key insights to support the strategic decisions around timing and pricing.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least 3+ years of experience in National Account Management, handling at least one major grocery customer and will have a background in FMCG, Liquor, Consumer Durables or Retail. You will have strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. The ability to understand big picture concepts and convert those plans to immediate term plans of action is also essential to your success in the role.
