**JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS SUPERINTENDENT**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work as directed by Logistics Manager, providing advice to, and coordinating with other departmental supervisory staff within the company to facilitate specific projects and expedient outcomes where required.
- Assist in the identification of manpower required and team shortfalls to ensure adequate manning of the Logistics Team to support the business.
- Interface with Procurement, Finance, Invoicing Team, and Logistics Coordinators for placing local and overseas orders and managing receipt of those orders IAW procurement guidelines.
- Ensure Logistics coordinators are engaging with vendors for finalising delivery schedules for materials/equipment. Monitor and follow up with key vendors to ensure that materials and equipment deliveries are adequately coordinated by the logistics team.
- Ensuring subordinates and internal/external stakeholders within JD span of control, are conforming to Petrofac Logistics Procedures and policies, ensuring best outcomes for the business.
- Monitor and coordinate with various freight operators, third-party agencies, ports, customs, subcontractors, handling agencies, etc. to accelerate shipments and clearances. Interface with insurance agencies for regular declaration and reporting in case of any accidents while goods are in transit.
- Manage supply and distribution operations entailing responsibility of logistics operations as well as freight management. Ensure effective receivables management.
- Monitor material availability for various projects and follow up for shortages. Introduce cost reduction initiatives to generate significant savings to company and clients at the bid stage as well as the project execution stage.
- Plan and oversee the implementation of safety norms and practices and organise regular training for team members to handle projects in all aspects.
- Ensure projects meet the health, safety and environment requirements thereby protecting the interests of the safety, the company and managing costs efficiently.
- Participate in preparing the shipping, marking & packing instructions for each project as required.
- Participate in preparing & approval project shipping & logistics execution strategy.
- Participate in preparing RFQ’s to Freight Forwarder, scrutinise quotation evaluate offers, and prepare/ approve bids tabulations.
- Negotiate & conclude agreements/ contracts with freight forwarders for general cargo & OOG shipments.
- Where required, participate in new hire interviews and oversee training of staff as required.
- Implement Health and Safety Procedures.
- Perform any related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by Logistics Manager.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Understanding of Supply chain principles and materials/inventory management regimes
- Proven leadership in issues of an HSEQ nature.
- Knowledge in principles of Load Restraint - Road Transportation
- Demonstrated knowledge in principles of Chain of Responsibility legislation
- Qualifications in Management or Logistics well regarded.
- Understanding of contracting principles for logistics activities specific to the region.
- Applied knowledge of tendering and award processes.
- Applied knowledge of contract and subcontractor management.
- Adaptable to short notice project and operational changes to provide effective logistics management
- Track record of coordinating/supervising all logistics and materials disciplines associated with the support disciplines necessary to facilitate an offshore drilling or oil and gas offshore/onshore projects.
