**About Strategy and Culture (Museums and Collections)**
The Museums and Collection Department, within Strategy and Culture, aims to build a collaborative and flexible network around the University’s cultural assets to enable students, staff members local and global communities to gain knowledge and understanding of contemporary and traditional cultures, scientific discovery and creative practice.
**About the Role**
As the Programs Manager, you will be a part of the Engagement team and work to connect and engage people in our programs, place and collections, and enable the delivery of University objectives.
You will play a leadership role in the Department, working collaboratively in partnership with the Curatorial and Operations teams. You will be responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of programs for Museums and Collections, which includes Buxton Contemporary, Grainger Museum, Old Quad, and Science Gallery Melbourne, in, as well as the newly established MPavilion Parkville. You will lead an audience-led approach to public programs with a focus on students, young people, academics, University faculties, and communities.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver a public programming framework for the Department.
- Develop and deliver a programming strategy for the new MPavilion Parkville.
- Manage relevant stakeholder relationships with philanthropic foundations, local government and University.
- Design and deliver public programs that enhance the University student experience.
**About You**
You will have a proven track record in the development and delivery of innovative and engaging public programs with multiple partners, collaborators and stakeholders. You will also have experience in audience development and engagement, demonstrating an audience focused approach to programming.
You will have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with strong networks in the cultural and/or tertiary sector and have a passion for building and leading teams to be motivated and accountable.
You will also have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification; or relevant experience in cultural or public engagement environment
- Technical experience in event production
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management plans
- Budget management skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities to secure external funding or commercial revenue
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
