**About the Opportunity**

Joining Fonterra as our National HSW Manager, you will be responsible for providing safety leadership, coaching, mentoring and support to all HSW Managers and key stakeholder across the Fonterra business units and operations.

Reporting to the GM of Health Safety & Wellbeing, this highly visible and business critical role will see you based at our Richmond head office, with regular visits to our metro and regional sites.

As a highly capable and confident leader, you will provide hands on support and expert advice to our HSW Managers, Site Managers and functional leaders, enabling the delivery of our strategic initiatives and plans, aimed at preventing harm across our organisation.

You will look to improve safety ownership and accountability across areas of responsibility, delivering improved behavioural and cultural change across all sites and functions.

The National HSW Manager will role model Fonterra’s values and provide a positive work environment that delivers results, engagement, supports the wellbeing and psychological safety of our people, whilst ensuring compliance to OHS/WHS and Injury Management regs.

This position is also responsible for:

- Ensuring consistency and compliance to the HSW Management System through onsite reviews and audits with the site teams and HSW Systems Manager.
- Supporting the development and implementation of the HSW strategic plans.
- Partnering with relevant stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, etc.) to implement key HSW projects, whist also providing hands on support where needed.
- Monitoring and analysing performance metrics, generating reports, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Coaching and mentoring HSW Managers to deliver on KPIs and business plans.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in health, safety, and wellbeing, backed by a relevant qualification such as a Bachelor's degree in Safety or equivalent.

You have a proven track record in leading teams, HSW strategies and initiatives within complex, high-risk environments—particularly those involving automated machinery, combustible dusts, or chemicals such as anhydrous ammonia.

Your approach is both proactive and analytical, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

You possess outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling you to influence, engage, and support stakeholders at all levels.

You will also bring:

- Strong experience in people leadership and managing HSW functions across a business.
- Proficiency in incident investigations.
- Demonstrated success in injury and event management prevention.
- Experience in analysing HSW performance metrics and translating insights into action.
- A generalist HSW background with a continuous improvement mindset.
