**About Us**

The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) Is responsible for protecting the South Australian community from the effects of fire, road crashes, chemical incidents and other emergencies. We are a team of approximately 1,300 operational personnel and corporate professionals serving the Community across 20 metropolitan and 17 regional fire stations.

**About the role**

The Human Resources (HR) Support Officer plays a key role in supporting high quality human resource services within the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS).

The successful applicant will work closely with the broader HR team and contribute to business projects and operational activities.

The role of Human Resources Support Officer is ideal for a dynamic and detail oriented individual with strong organisational skills.

**About you**
- Qualification in Human Resources or another related field
- Ability to identify and analyse problems, exercise sound judgement and formulate clear and effective solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously and take direction.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- Research skills and interpret regulations, guidelines and/or instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally to all levels of staff.
- Ability to exercise initiative.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and contribute to a spirit of team cooperation.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Excel and Word.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- General knowledge of personnel management principles under the Public Sector Act, Work Health & Safety Act, and the Equal Opportunity Act.
- General knowledge of MFS organisational structure.
- Knowledge of MFS functions and activities.
