The Human Resources and Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing HR and Safety support to the General Manager and Construction Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources and Safety departments. You will be a team player, generalist in HR and safety and have a positive professional mannerism.
The role is required to proactively coordinate the day-to-day tasks within the Human Resources and Safety area. The Human Resources and Safety Coordinator contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources and Safety systems, policies, procedures and practices.
**The areas of responsibilities will include by not limited to**:
- Coordinate the day-to-day Human Resources and Safety tasks
- Support to managers on Human Resources and Safety issues, systems, policies and procedures
- Maintain up to date and accurate employee files
- Hiring new staff members and managing existing staff
- Follow internal Human Resources and Safety Procedures to ensure accurate employee information and company HSE compliance
- Ensuring employees are happy, healthy and productive
- Employee recognition
- Generalist HR duties
- Ensure effective operation of day-to-day administrative functions
- Build professional working relationships with all staff
- Develop and implement strategies that will attract, engage, and develop employees and build upon a high-performance culture
- Bachelor degree majoring in Human Resources
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of the latest workplace legislation
- Passionate about safety and HR and wellbeing of all employees
- Experience in supporting managers and leaders on Human Resources and Safety issues
- High level of computer literacy - MS Office, Outlook, Excel etc.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads
- Strong communication skills (interpersonal, oral, written, presentation etc.)
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships
- Desire to learn and expand knowledge on all matters relating to human resources and safety
- Previous experience in the construction industry would be advantageous
