The Role
The Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Centre is an ECU industry collaboration centre for the mining sector. The multidisciplinary MARS Centre works collaboratively with the West Australian mining industry to create mentally healthy workplaces, build a culture of safety and respect, and prepare for workplace safety in future mining. The MARS Centre - based in the School of Business and Law - involves inter-School collaboration with the School of Medical and Health Sciences and is funded through a grant from the WA Government’s MARS Program, along with funding from industry partners and ECU’s research fund.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for high level project management and administrative support to the MARS Centre. Working closely with the MARS Centre Director, they will participate in program planning, research project progress tracking (including budgets), and organisation of functions and events for the Centre. The Project Coordinator will also provide executive support to the MARS Centre Advisory Board as well as manage the Centre’s communications, webpages and social media platforms.
Completion of a Tertiary (degree) qualification in a relevant discipline, with a preference for a postgraduate degree.
Relevant previous experience with projects and coordinating complex processes.
Familiarity with the research environment at a tertiary institution preferred.
Relevant experience with organising and coordinating events.
Interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop good relationships and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to investigate, identify and analyse key issues and the associated alternative, benefits and costs to develop practical solutions. Involves being creative and innovative when developing effective solutions and the ability to manage related risks.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
Remuneration
This position attracts a remuneration of $92,087 to $99,353 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
