**About the role**:
The Manager Safeguarding sits within Northcott's Quality and Risk division and is integral in supporting service delivery to Northcott customers that reflects best practice and ensures Northcott meets the NDIS Quality and Safeguards compliance obligations. Reporting to the General Manager Quality and Risk, in this role role you will:

- provide operational leadership to a team of safeguarding practitioners and trainers;
- ensure compliance of reportable incidents to external regulators such as the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission;
- ensure compliance to all mandatory safeguarding training for staff;
- manage allocation of work related to reportable incidents and incident review, and investigations;
- oversee and monitor external reporting that related to NDIS Quality and Safeguards reportable incidents, customer deaths and abuse and neglect allegations for both adults and children;
- Participate in Customer Risk panels and support operational teams with panel outcomes.

Ideally, to be successful in this role you will have:

- experience managing and investigating allegations of adult and child neglect and abuse
- solid understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Code of Conduct and reportable incidents
- be solutions focused with strong judgement and problem solving skills,
- demonstrated skills in data management, statistical reporting and trends analysis, and professional presentation of reports
- excellent planning, time management and interpersonal skills which reflect your leadership capabilities and allow you to gain support and cooperation from others
- proven ability to lead, manage and support a team including achievement of KPIs and managing a team and service to a budget
- experience in managing an allocation process and tracking caseloads
- confidence using new technologies and systems

**Essential requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years managing a team
- Tertiary Qualifications and/or relevant sector experience in either Disability, Health, Community Services or Aged Care
- Sound knowledge of NDIS policies and procedures as well as NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission reporting requirements for disability providers
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance, outcomes measurement processes and methodologies
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, ethical and practice requirements relevant to NDIS Commission compliance requirements, NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Reportable Incidents and medication management.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant Probity checks -NSW WWCC and NDIS Worker Check
- Current NSW Driver’s licence and the ability to travel within New South Wales, ACT and Queensland.
- Evidence of compliance with any Public Health Orders applicable at the time - including evidence of a COVID-19 vaccination or medical contraindication certificate if applicable to you.
