Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's recommended design and construction contractor for Gold Coast Light Rail - Stage 3 (GCLR3), to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7 kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities to meet the Gold Coast’s expected population growth in the coming decades.

We are currently recruiting for **Utilities Coordinators for our GCLR3 team**. The roles are specifically to deliver Electrical, Telecommunications and Gas works packages. These are key support roles in the Utility team that will ensure the successful delivery of this iconic Queensland project.

**Responsibilities of the role include;**:

- Reporting to the John Holland PUP (Public Utility Plant) Coordinator for Energex, Telstra and Gas, assist with designs, approvals, scope change, planning, sequencing of works, method statements, shutdowns, construction coordination, testing & commissioning and handover.
- Ensure Safety, Quality, Environment & Risk Management is managed in accordance with John Holland’s polices & procedures, legislative requirements, codes of practice and standards.
- Ensure Activity Method Statements (AMS / WMS) in relation to utility works are prepared, reviewed, implemented and currency is maintained.
- Assist with on-site coordination and technical functions.
- Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
- Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check works drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
- Assist with coordination of contestable & non-contestable utility works crews, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the utilities team to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
- Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used, retain progress drawings and contribute to procurement and monthly cost reporting.
- Assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements.
- Participate in planning future requirements including direct site surveys and preparatory work prior to construction.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and utility asset owners to ensure satisfactory completion of utility related structures and construction work.

**An Engineering degree is NOT required for this position, however we would like to see,**:

- Demonstrated capabilities as a specialist in the fields of Electrical and Telecommunications network design, construction, commissioning and testing with a minimum of 10 years’ experience preferred.
- Previous interface with utility relocation and construction works within a light rail project experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience with major utilities in either Electrical (Energex), Telecommunications (Telstra & NBN) or Gas Distribution (APA) is considered essential.
- Experience with trenchless technologies such as Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).
- Engineering degree or diploma is favoured, but not essential.
- Gold Coast based, but not essential.
