Job Description Summary
- Ensure that the executions of IRS operations activities are compliant with procedures
- Ensure a teamwork approach making sure that other IRS Supervisors and Operators initiate appropriate corrective actions to responses as required to all incidents and emergencies
- Initiate appropriate corrective actions to responses to all incidents and emergencies as required
- Review and develop procedures that ensure the prompt response to incidents on the network
- Provide a professional level of customer service to all stakeholders both internally and externally for the daily operations and incident management
- Research, develop and implement safety initiatives and innovations, and actively research and communicate lessons learned and trials for adoption into our network.
- Lead and effectively contribute to all post incident assessments or hot de-briefs and actively undertake incident response findings.
- Keeping abreast of government and regulatory obligations, taking appropriate actions and supporting the implementation of preventative strategies
- Developing, approving, implementing and monitoring controls required for risk management
- Undertaking and/or arranging for inspection and verification activities to achieve the quality and compliance objectives of the project
- Lead and coordinate the effective response to unplanned major incidents
- Ensure that all approved reports are on time, accurate and professional
- Providing leadership to the Operations group
- Implementing policies, procedures and training in relation to traffic and incident management, and IRS operations to ensure that acceptable standards of proficiency are achieved and maintained.
- Developing and implementing the Traffic Management & Safety Plan, the Traffic Incident Management Plan and associated SWPs in accordance with the SWMS documentation and in consultation with incident response services.
- Liaising with the MRWA, and other stakeholders, including emergency services on all traffic and incident related issues. In particular, maintain positive and effective communication with the RNOC.
- Monitoring and evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of traffic operation activities, and where necessary implement corrective action to rectify any deficiencies
- Investigating, analyzing and developing solutions to road safety and traffic management issues, and conduct presentations to key stakeholders
- Liaising with the MRWA, and other stakeholders, including emergency services to facilitate the efficient and safe movement of traffic.
- Assisting with the dissemination of information to road users, local communities and transport operators in relation to the changed traffic conditions or delays that may be experienced
- Establish and test contingency plans for Motorway Operations
- Development of Training Materials and regular review of operations standards and procedures to ensure that operating guidelines accurately describe the tasks and frequencies that are required
- Implement policies, procedures and training in relation to traffic and incident management
- Complete administrative duties as required
- Manage on-call resources to provide assistance in resolving traffic incidents. Assist emergency services as required
- Complete Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting as required
