**The Role**
The Explosive Ordnance Assurance Technical Officer is one of three APS members working within the Joint Explosive Ordnance Support (JEOS) team in WA. JEOS areas of responsibility focus on providing assurance that all aspects of Military Explosive Ordnance handling, storage, transport and disposal is conducted safely and in accordance with relevant policy and procedures. The incumbent is also required to inspect and sentence guided weapons as they are transferred from units back into storage.
The position requires the incumbent to visit all Defence Establishments in the WA region on an annual basis and meet with senior members of these units. Effective verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable.
JEOS-WA consists of a small team of Explosive Ordnance experts who are frequently engaged to guide and mentor all Defence Units in WA on all aspects of Explosive Ordnance Handling, storage, transport and disposal.
