**Job Description**:
This role ensures TAL’s data governance capabilities are developed, maintained and supported to meet the needs of TAL’s business operations. Reporting into the Practice Lead - Enterprise Data and working with TAL’s Data Owners, Data Stewards, Risk Office and various data delivery teams, the role supports compliance with TAL’s Data Governance Policy.

More specifically, your role is to lead the operation and uplift of business capabilities in relation to:

- Data governance (including change management, policies, and standards)
- Metadata management
- Data quality management
- Master and Reference Data Management

Accountable For:
**Metadata Management**: Lead the uplift of TAL’s Metadata Management Business Capability to ensure that TAL’s business and technical data definitions are captured and managed according to standards and best practices, and are made available for appropriate use by responsible Data Stewards, Data Custodians and other Data Users across the enterprise.

**Data Quality**: Lead TAL’s Enterprise Data Quality function. You will work with EDOs, their delegates and Data Stewards to develop and maintain data quality processes relating to TAL’s data environment to ensure that TAL’s data quality is defined, measured, improved and controlled to meet the needs of business for all critical data in order to support TAL’s business operations, and ensure data risk is within TAL’s Data Governance Policy data risk appetite. Master and Reference

**Data Management**: Lead the development and implementation of TALs Master and Reference Data Management business capability to ensure that TAL’s commonly shared data is managed according to standards and best practices by responsible Data Stewards and Data Custodians and are made available for appropriate use by Data Users across the enterprise.

**Enterprise Data Operating Model, Ways of Working**: In collaboration with Continuous Delivery teams and the Head of Data and Analytics, you will support the embedding of an agreed “Ways of Working” in relation to how data, reporting and analytics services are delivered to the business; this is intended to create clarity for delivery teams and the business with respect to who to engage, and how their needs will be met

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Commerce, Business, Statistics, Technology, or a related discipline

**Essential**
- Ability to work across executive leadership, business operational and technical teams
- Excellent relationship development, influencing and written / verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions
- Ability to evangelise data management as critical business capabilities
- Leading and developing high performance (including operational excellence)
- Ability to collaborate with Technology in relation to data acquisition and modelling (data warehousing & data lakes)
- Ability to translate data management and analytics issues to business risks
- Ability to translate data quality management to performance management issues
- Understanding of and ability to define business requirements, business processes and operational policies
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodology
