**Your new company**

This Federal Government Department is committed to safeguarding Australia’s biosecurity. As a Biosecurity Officer, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to protecting our environment, agriculture, and communities from invasive pests, diseases, and other biosecurity threats.

**Your new role**

As a Biosecurity Officer, you will play a crucial role in the Cargo Operations Pathway. This pathway oversees the regulatory assessment and inspection of goods throughout the biosecurity continuum - whether they arrive offshore, at the border, or onshore. Your responsibilities will include verifying compliance with Australia’s biosecurity and imported food requirements. You’ll work closely with policy experts and risk owners within the department to shape operational policies and deliver regulatory functions. Our integrated, risk-based operating model ensures that we maintain the delicate balance between trade facilitation and biosecurity protection.

**What you'll need to succeed**- Previous experience in Federal Government (desired)- Background in administration and/or customer service- Ability to follow directions- Excellent customer service and communication skills- Ability to problem solve and resolve operational and technical matters

Please note: in order to be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. You must also have a Baseline Clearance.
