**Who we are**
**Maritime Operations and Regulatory Capability** deliver regulatory assessments and inspections of international vessels to ensure compliance with Australis’s biosecurity requirements. The pathway holds responsibility for administering the Infringement Notice Scheme primarily for infringement notices issued in the airport environment. In addition, the pathway also undertakes a range of enabling services on behalf of the Biosecurity Operations Division including recruitment and workforce planning, learning and development, coaching and regulatory capability and workforce management.

**BOD Technical Training** is a national team who develop and deliver technical training and the Biosecurity Foundation Program (BFP), implement digital and innovative learning and support building capability as well as assessing competency of Biosecurity Officers within the Biosecurity Operations Division (BOD).

**The Job**
The main duties of the Program Officer include, but are not limited to:

- Creating, managing, and publishing BFP documentation and/or activities in BFP SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, participant’s survey etc prior to commencement and throughout BFP.
- Respond to BFP enquiries.
- Support BFP with BFP and team reporting and analysis requirement.
- Governance activities for the BFP and team.
- Promoting compliance with departmental work health safety and rehabilitation policies and guidelines.
- Promoting and adhering to the APS Values, APS Employment Principles and Code of Conduct.
- Fostering a culture of safety, diversity, inclusiveness, positive attendance and high performance.

**Skills and capabilities**
Successful applicants will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt to a variety of audiences and communicate to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Work independently and collaboratively against established priorities, practices, and methodologies to deliver quality outcomes.
- Be accountable for the quality of own work, producing high quality outputs, in a timely manner, requiring little or no revision before finalisation.

**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**
We are looking for people who have:

- Knowledge of the role and objectives of the department and how these relate to the team.
- Knowledge of the organisation’s business model and operations as well as general business models and principles.
- Strong technical knowledge of BOD and the operating systems used within these areas or a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge quickly. Knowledge and experience in using the department’s learning systems.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills - the ability to communicate to a range of different stakeholders, to build and sustain positive working relationships in a regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision making processes and departmental guidelines and regulations.
