POSITION PURPOSE & DESCRIPTION: To provide administrative support for the Centre.
ARMY MISSION STATEMENT: All employees are expected to demonstrate empathy and actively support the mission of The Salvation Army, which is an international movement and is an evangelical branch of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible and its ministry is motivated by love of God, ‘the love of Christ compels us ’ 2 Cor 5:14. The mission is both spiritual and practical, encompassing the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the alleviation of human suffering and distress without discrimination. Employees are required to ensure their performance and behaviour upholds and reflects the principles of the Army’s mission.
Mission
- Promote The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus (TSAACP) Vision, Mission and Values.
Build and maintain sustainable staff relationships to ensure a supportive working environment.
Finance
- Carry out the receipting of all money received for resident fees and other charges from any other source
- Preparation of claims for reimbursement of Imprest Account from Shared Services Group.
- Processing of accounts payable through the Finance1 system.
- Balancing of Petty Cash and Cash draw.
- Preparation and transmitting of all the Centre’s banking requirements
- Reconciliation of Imprest and Trust account balances.
- Data entry into Epicor as require
Reception
- Provide Reception Services and associated duties
- Answer telephone inquiries and direct those calls to the appropriate person.
- Ensure reception is kept clean, tidy and free of clutter at all times.
- Ensure guests/visitors are greeted in a professional, genuinely warm and friendly manner
Team Support
Participates in team activities, attends staff meetings when scheduled and demonstrates a supportive approach to other staff members which contributes to the overall team effectiveness.
Work Health & Safety
To meet Work Health and Safety obligations in line with TSA Policy & Procedures & relevant legislation.
Professional Development & Continuous Improvement
Maintain and develop personal knowledge in area of expertise and meets core values and behaviours of TSA.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in Receptionist/Administration background
- An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of the aged care industry
- Highly developed administrative/organisational skills
- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work unsupervised for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills with work colleagues, professional people, residents and general public
- Ability to work as part of a team and liaise with people at all levels.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Computer Skills: Lotus Notes, MSWord, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate III in Business Administration
- Previous experience working in an aged care environment structure

- Exceptional phone manner

- A high proficiency working in a Windows environment utilising Lotus Notes, Microsoft Suite of products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc
- High attention to detail and sound time management skills
- Highly effective planning, organisational and problem solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures
