**Assistant Hatchery Manager**

**Multiquip Poultry **is a national company dedicated to servicing the poultry industry in Australia. We transport live birds from the growing farms to the processing plant, moving everything from eggs to fully grown birds.

We seek an Assistant Hatchery Manager to support and monitor daily operations across various staff divisions at our Hatchery located in Picton, NSW. This role reports to the Branch Manager and the Hatchery Manager and collaborates closely with co-workers and senior management.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with OHS, WHS, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with staff and management.
- Lead the planning and management of all departments within the Hatchery.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safe workplace practices.
- Manage fatigue procedures and oversee electronic work diaries for drivers.
- Promptly report operational and maintenance issues.
- Conduct in-process checks, document corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
- Maintain knowledge of mechanical operations, including chillers and generators.
- Manage animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.
- Recommend stopping work if safety risks arise.
- Report environmental breaches and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Take reasonable care for personal and others' health and safety and follow employer policies and procedures.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**:

- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the poultry industry.
- Understanding of the heavy vehicle industry and relevant regulations.
- Strong organizational, time management, and administrative skills.
- Familiarity with WHS, fatigue management, and compliance policies.
- Ability to analyse issues and implement effective solutions.
- Proficient in computer literacy and technology use.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR) and completion of fatigue management training (e.g., TILF006).
