Laboratory Assistant

Full time casual hours Monday to Friday, entry level position
- Practical lab experience preferred
- Weekly rotating roster, 1 week of day shift and 1 week of afternoon shift is considered essential.

The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for the accurate and efficient weighing and analysis of mining samples.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will prepare samples for analysis to ensure client satisfaction is maintained and turnaround times are met.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform the preparation assay or analysis of samples in a timely manner
- Ensure all samples meet strict Quality, Health and Safety standards
- Maintain numerical system of order
- Adhere to all documented and verbal safety instructions
- Undertaking of all documented laboratory methods for which you have been trained
- Assist in clean up of glassware
- Assist in NATA recording
- Using pipettes and other laboratory measuring devices

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Current drivers licence
- The ability to work unsupervised
- The ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen
- Practical experience in a Laboratory will be highly regarded
- Must be willing to do weekly rotating shifts, days, nights and afternoons

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
