Position Overview:
As the Depot Manager, you will be key in optimising operations and driving team performance. Working closely with the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for setting and achieving operational goals that ensure productivity, efficiency, and service excellence. Your leadership will guide your team to meet and exceed KPIs, budgets, and forecasts while fostering a positive and high-performing culture. You will work closely with Independent Delivery Partners, ensuring the strict adherence to processes to meet delivery requirements and exceed service objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to manage daily depot operations, implement effective strategies, and directly impact the business's growth and success. Your days will be dynamic, requiring a balance of hands-on leadership, operational oversight, recruitment, safety management, and a constant focus on improving employee and customer experiences. You will maintain a safe, productive, and high-performing work environment while driving continuous improvement in depot operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager to set clear operational goals and consistently report on performance to track progress.- Lead the planning and implementation of depot operations, ensuring alignment with productivity and service excellence targets.- Prepare and analyse performance reports regarding identified KPI’s, budgets and forecasts. Monitor results on an ongoing basis and adjust operations as required.- Direct and delegate routes and work closely with Delivery Contractors and their teams, ensuring the most efficient process to meet key customer KPIs.- Develop and nurture positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration that drives the team toward achieving operational goals.- Uphold and promote a safe and secure environment for all employees and Delivery Contractors, ensuring safety protocols are followed rigorously to prevent incidents and maintain operational continuity.- Ensure timesheets and payroll information are accurately approved and submitted on time.- Provide an unparalleled employee experience and align department and individual efforts to the vision, mission and culture of Dragonfly.- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.- Provide overall direction, support, coaching and leadership to the team to achieve the objectives.- Leading your team to provide the highest level of customer service, both internally and externally, to improve the customer experience continuously.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in a leadership position within the transport/logistics industry.- Proven leadership abilities to guide a team working in a fast-paced environment to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a culture of excellence.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly understand and identify issues and implement solutions.- Ability to effectively prioritise workflow to ensure deadlines are met, adapting to shifting priorities and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement.- Strong interpersonal skills, including leadership, conflict resolution and team building abilities.- Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude with a hands-on, team-oriented work style.- Previous experience in a new-branch or start-up environment, preferred, not essential.
