**About the Role**:
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- provide strategic advice to develop and embed the department's priorities associated with Equity and Excellence On track for success phase of schooling;
- analyse and synthesise current data, evidence and practices related to the junior secondary phase of schooling;
- conceptualise, develop and implement projects that support professional expertise, school and community partnerships and systems to enhance student outcomes in junior secondary;
- prepare reports, briefings, presentations and communications for the project Director and Senior Leaders; and
- engage productively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders including principals, regional officers, researchers and teams across the department.

- effective time management and strong written and verbal communication skills;
- deep knowledge of the developmental characteristics of young adolescent learners.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
- Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 7.4 of the Department of Education State School Teachers Certified Agreement 2019.
- When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
