**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 2 Director, Management Accounting and Reporting within the Finance Branch.

The Finance Branch delivers financial capability for DPS, supporting the delivery of its strategic priorities by:

- designing, managing and supporting processes that are essential to effective financial management outcomes; and
- providing financial analysis and insight to Senior Executives, managers and staff to help them with decisions as they also achieve their contribution to the DPS strategic priorities.

Leading our Management Accounting and Reporting capabilities, your role will help the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Assistant Secretary, Finance Branch to support DPS through the provision of internal and external budgeting services, financial forecasting and business partnering.

The Director, Management Accounting and Reporting will lead a team to support and provide financial advice on our diverse business including information and technology services, library and research services, security, broadcasting and Hansard functions, visitor services and support an in-house catering and events function. The team also develops and supports a significant capital works program, which ensures Parliament House is maintained according to its original design intent.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 2 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Drive, manage and coordinate the internal budget process.
- As a business partner, lead and direct business area budget development, budget reporting and business planning activities.
- Manage and deliver financial reporting to the Executive.
- Manage and monitor the capital planning process and reporting.
- Coordinate the external budget process, deliver external budget reporting requirements and develop new policy proposals.
- Provide high quality strategic financial accounting policy advice to the Executive.
- Oversee and prepare a range of written material including business cases, Cabinet submissions, Senate Estimate submissions and corporate documentation.
- Contribute to the leadership of the Finance Branch and more broadly across the department.
- Manage a responsive, efficient and effective service delivery team.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
