**Sustainment Lead: Role responsibilities**
- Collaborate closely with the delivery team to ensure smooth operational readiness of new capabilities before accepting them into service.
- Enhance the incident management process to provide efficient support for the environment, and maintain it for ongoing improvement.
- Develop and maintain operational monitoring procedures, leveraging key Network Management Systems (NMS) deployed within the environment.
- Develop security monitoring procedures, including security use cases that align with client objectives, to ensure comprehensive protection of the environment.
- Continuously improve operational practices and procedures by leveraging tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Continuously improve systems and services to meet evolving needs and requirements.
- Take ownership of patching and maintenance of systems, and associated procedures to ensure their uninterrupted availability and optimal performance.
- Develop and deliver operational reports for internal and external stakeholders to keep them informed of the environment's performance and usage.
- Ensure governance over code deployments and associated change control for production environments to maintain stability and reliability.
- Engage with customer stakeholders as required to understand their needs and expectations and provide them with the necessary support and guidance.

**Essential experience**
- 5+ years working in an operational role supporting complex ICT systems and services.
- Good understanding of Network Management Systems and related operational monitoring approaches.
- Experience mentoring and influencing team members and providing thought leadership within an engineering team.
- Experience working with incident management in an ICT context.
- Working knowledge of software engineering in an Infrastructure as Code context including version control, automation, IaaS, CI/CD and configuration management.
- Exposure to DevOps tooling such as GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible and Terraform.
- Awareness of Agile, Scrum and Kanban concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to identify technology gaps in current capabilities and processes.

**Desirable Qualities**
- Exposure to VMware and ESXi.
- Experience working in Linux, Windows and Kubernetes environments.
- Proven ability to work independently, and within a multi-discipline team.
- Good knowledge of cloud-based providers, preferably AWS.
