Our Sustainability Team within CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) are seeking an experienced, personable, results orientated individual with a drive to make a difference to join the team

As the Sustainability Engagement Coordinator, you will play a significant role influencing the strategy and culture of Sustainability in CSIRO’s operations. Your experience in sustainability engagement and education, with extensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) knowledge will be essential to your success in this role. Your involvement in developing and delivering sustainability engagement strategies and programs will be fundamental, as will your credibility when influencing the culture of sustainability in a large and complex organisational context. Your ability to build partnerships with a range of stakeholders will be tremendously valuable.

**Your duties will include**:

- Leading the development and implementation of CSIRO’s operational sustainability engagement plan in line with CSIRO’s Strategic Plan, Sustainability Strategy and other sustainability strategies, policies and guidelines.
- In collaboration with the Sustainability Team lead an annual review and update of the sustainability engagement plan, assessing effectiveness of strategies, programs and projects to enable a culture of sustainability and achieve CSIRO’s sustainability goals and targets.
- In collaboration with the Manager Sustainability and Manager Sustainability Strategy and Reporting, develop and implement mechanisms to ensure the Sustainability Team and other internal stakeholders deliver programs, projects and key messages in-line with the sustainability engagement plan.
- Producing and managing resources and content for all sustainability communication channels and developing interactive tools for engagement and education including surveys, events and training.
- In consultation with the Sustainability Team, preparing communications briefs to inform CSIRO’s corporate affairs and marketing teams on required internal and external communications.
- Leading the preparation of recognition and award submissions for Sustainability Team initiatives in line with the engagement plan.
- Planning and managing allocated engagement budget and working with the Manager Sustainability to develop approval memos and business cases for sustainability engagement programs and related initiatives.

**Location**:All AU CSIRO Sites will be considered. NSW & ACT preferred. A hybrid working environment will be available.

**Salary**:AU $105,806 - $114,500 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engagement, communications, sustainability or equivalent relevant work experience in these areas.
- Extensive experience in developing and delivering sustainability engagement strategies and programs in a large and complex organisational context across multiple locations nationally.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with diverse stakeholders to support collaborative sustainability initiatives.
- An applied knowledge of environmental, social and governance dimensions of sustainability in the context of key current and emerging challenges faced by a corporate commonwealth entity.
- Highly developed and impactful written and oral communication skills across a wide variety of platforms and context with proven results from articles, briefs, presentations and workshop facilitation.
- An applied understanding of best practice engagement principles and ability to provide strategic direction on the design and development of engagement activities (i.e. forums, meetings, workshops, surveys).
- Training in International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) methods or other comparable engagement frameworks is highly regarded and experience in sustainability engagement within a scientific research environment is an advantage.
