**About the Role**

The Food Service Assistant will be committed to work in a team environment with the ability to prioritise your tasks to prepare and provide meals, and delivering outstanding customer services. Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, Working as part of the Food Services team at Casey Hospital, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health.

As an experienced Food Services Assistant, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, regeneration, plating, delivery and collection of meals throughout the day. Other key duties include:

- Assist in the preparation of meals
- Accurately assembling tray supplies and food on tray line
- Clean Kitchen and equipment
- Deliver, distribute and collect all meal requirements
- Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
- Completing all food safety documentation in a timely manner

**Shifts Available**

Join our team as a Food Service Assistant on a Part time ongoing basis, 15 hrs per fortnight. Based as Casey Hospital.

This role is designed to cover vacant shifts over Afternoon and evening time periods Monday to Sunday, depending on business requirements. Please note these are not weekly set shifts.

The role of the Pool - FSA team member is to cover vacant shift over all three time periods.

The Food Services team at Casey Hospital requires a qualified Food Services Assistant to prepare and provide meals to our wards striving to consistently deliver high quality and efficient services to our patients.

**About Us**

Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

**About You**:
To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in food services within a hospital, aged care, or hospitality setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene standards. You have a passion for patient care and nutrition, ensuring patients are treated with respect and empathy. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills; and intermediate computer skills. Whether you work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions. It would be an advantage if you also have comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances.

You are also required to hold basic food safety qualification in food handing:
HLTFSE001: Follow basic food safety practices or SITXFSA001: Use hygienic practices for food safety
