**Our Journey**:
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

We are looking for customer focused Food Services Assistant to work in our kitchen at Monash Medical Centre Food Services Clayton.

We have two type of vacancies available which are all part-time positions for various morning and afternoon shift on a rotating roster (Monday -Sunday) with the ability to pick up additional ADHOC shifts.

**_ We have the following positions available:_**

**_ 1. Part-time positions (Pool)_**

**_ (45.6 hours per fortnight)_**

**_ AM / PM shifts consistent of department rosters and cover_**

**_ 2. Part-time positions_**

**_ AM / PM shifts available_**

**A Day in the Life**:
Working as part of the Monash Medical Centre Food Services team, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health.

As a Food Service Assistant, you will be committed to work in a team environment dedicated to delivering outstanding service and your ability to prioritize and self-manage tasks, interact and communicate well with the nursing team and be proactive and attentive to food service duties will be pivotal to your success in this role.

You must have a good understanding in:

- Diet codes and relevant and appropriate foods
- Food allergies and intolerance, modified textures and fluids
- Cleaning within a food services environment from a food safety compliance

Responsibilities include; (but not limited to)
- Cleaning within a food services environment to meet food safety compliance
- Kitchen hand duties (Scullery)
- Cleaning of kitchen equipment

**On a Personal Level**:

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team.
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment

**What You Need**:

- Food Handling Certificate (SITXFSA001) - Essential
- Understanding of diet codes and relevant and appropriate foods
- Understanding of food allergies, intolerance, modified textures and fluids
- A strong understanding of food safety
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
