The Victorian Rail Advocate is responsible for promoting Victoria’s local rail manufacturing industry and developing initiatives to grow industry capability, capacity and our associated skilled workforce.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Advising on challenges within the local rolling stock manufacturing industry, particularly in the context of buses, with a focus on enhancing both capabilities and diversity in the workforce. - Establishing and facilitating stakeholder forums like RIDAC and collaborating with the National Rail Advocate to foster a federal emphasis on bolstering the rail manufacturing sector's capacity. This includes streamlining major procurements, implementing local content regulations, and harmonizing technical standards to enhance interoperability and reduce inefficiencies.
