We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging.
**About the Role**:
As the National HSE Systems & Compliance Manager, and reporting to the National Operational Capability Manager you will be at the forefront of shaping and implementing the Visy Recycling HSE Plan. This role is a perfect blend of strategic thinking and hands-on operational delivery, offering the opportunity to make a measurable impact on safety and compliance standards. This role can be based at any of our sites in QLD (Gibson Island, Murrarie), VIC (Coolaroo/ Springvale) or NSW (Penrith/ Smithfield).
**What you'll do**:
- **Strategic Leadership**: Develop and execute strategies to bridge operational activities with corporate safety targets.
- **Process Optimization and Training**: Lead the implementation of systems that ensure consistent safety management across multiple sites and provide related training and assistance to the operational team.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Influence and engage with internal stakeholders at all levels, including state operations and site managers and external stakeholders, including contractors, to adopt best practices.
- **Auditing and Compliance**: Conduct regular site audits, align operations to standardize safety and compliance processes to drive efficiency and excellence. Also, develop management reports resulting from the audits.
- **Data-Driven Insights**: Analyze safety data to identify trends, improve decision-making, and foster continuous improvement.
**What You Will Bring**:
- Significant experience in HSE management within manufacturing, recycling, or related industries.
- A relevant degree in Health & Safety or a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- Proficiency in HSE & QMS principles and concepts related to the field of specialisation
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address HSE & Compliance issues and optimize processes
- Knowledge of auditing systems, their principles, and the ability to contribute to compliance management systems effectively
- Proficiency in safety systems and data analysis (Noggin, Power BI) is highly desirable
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders, manage change, and standardize processes across diverse teams
- Adaptability to balance strategic vision with operational execution, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
