HOSCH International is renowned for developing expertise in all areas of conveyor belt cleaning. Commencing operations in 1975, the HOSCH group operates across 30 countries, employing over 700 employees. We specialise in conveyor belt scrapers, tracking frames, ploughs and rollers for the bulk handling industry.

AsWork, Health & Safety Advisor / Supervisor, you will play a key operational role in delivering practical OH&S leadership, ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations, overseeing and managing all aspects of health and safety programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
This is a challenging and rewarding role for individuals who like to use their experience in the mining industry and Work, Health & Safety to help us constantly improve our safety standards and, at the same time, lead by example as a supervisor on occasional shutdowns on WA mine sites.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating health and safety management plans, policies and systems.
- Conducting audits and inspections to identify and remedy potential risks or dangers in the workplace.
- Make sure all employees have received relevant and up-to-date occupational health and safety training, record training and evaluate training program effectiveness.
- Act as occasional shutdown supervisor to lead teams and ensure all work is completed in accordance with safe systems of work.
- Investigating accidents, injuries and near misses and identifying causes to prevent future incidents using ICAM and/or TapRoot.
- Log corrective actions, allocate for attention and monitor close-out.
- Monitor and report on WH&S performance metrics, identify trends, make improvement recommendations, and ensure organizational continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to WHS activities, including incident reports, inspections, and training records though cloud-based WHS management software (WHS Monitor)
- Provide guidance and training on hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control.
- Contribute to an effective proactive safety culture.
- Be visible and regularly engage with all workers through safety meetings, toolbox talks, safety observations, site visits, etc.
**What you will need**
- Certificate 4 in WHS or preferably Diploma in WHS
- Trade Background (Boilermaker/Welder, Mechanical Fitter or similar) with recent 3 - 5 years of experience as an OHS/HSE Coordinator/Advisor
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams in the mining industry.
- Training in safety systems management, hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety performance development and management.
- Proficiency in preparing written reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to lead, coach and influence others.
- Ability to interpret and analyse data and report trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop appropriate control measures.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documenting safety procedures, incidents, and compliance records.
- Qualifications like Working at Heights, White Card, Confined Space Entry & Work, Standard 11(QLD) or Schedule 26 (WA), or similar are well regarded.
- An understanding of “Safety Differently” and “Just Culture” principles and practices.
- An understanding and and/or training in Behavioural Based Safety programs.
- Willing to undergo medical, drug and alcohol screening.
