Design Assistant

The Role
Looking to start your career within Design? This is your opportunity to assist in the development of the softs range, ensuring the quality of apparel is maintained through the development and design stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting designer with creating tech sheets as well as with creating technical sketches for the collections
- Creating, editing and updating line drawings, sketches, images and prints in photoshop/illustrator
- Maintaining range boards and action follow-ups to ensure sample schedules are up to date
- Maintaining internal database, organising fabric library
- Compiling and managing the Style/Fabric tracker per month and manage the fabric/trim library and all samples
- Sample management and organising samples for shoots and presentations
- Attend fit sessions with the designer and compiling appropriate fit notes and follow up where required
- Liaising with the factory and with suppliers to source and produce samples, ensuring samples are accurate and within the deadlines in place
- Assisting the Design Team with ad-hoc assignments as required
- A tertiary qualification in Fashion or Textiles is preferred
- Experience with illustration software packages e.g. Adobe Illustrator
- Experience having worked in a similar design led role in a fashion business would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally across the business
- Extremely organized with great attention to detail
- Working well within a collaborative team
