An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Assistant to join a dynamic team at Seed Heritage.

This role will assist throughout the ranging & product development process by supporting the Bags & Soft Accessories Designer/Buyer.

**THE ROLE**:

- Set up tech pack files in advance of season.
- Assist with the sketching of stylised and technical drawings in Illustrator.
- Manage style files including initial set-up and maintenance.
- Work in D-365 as needed to set up product lifecycle information for each style - in conjunction with designer and administrative assistant
- Participate in weekly production meetings with relevant information on hand.

- Facilitate approval of care instructions and swing tickets with administrative assistant.
- Photograph, steam and hang all samples purchased overseas and locally and put them in class order for campaign shoots and handovers.
- Liaise with Designer/Buyer on costs, approvals, and comments to ensure company quality and standard is met.
- On-site 5 days per week in our St Kilda Rd offices.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- 1-2 years’ experience in a Design or Buying Assistant role or similar
- Prior Soft Accessories and/or Bag Design experience (preferred)
- Proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- A relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Demonstrated hand sketching ability
- Understanding of graphic têxtile print also desirable
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and manage time effectively
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
