About the job
As an Alcoa supervisor you will play a large part in the success of work execution and people engagement. This front-line leadership role is responsible for coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential, developing and upholding very high standards in safety, and maintenance practices whilst guiding our diverse teams to achieve goals in all areas of the business.
Alcoa is an industry leader in the use of modern systems and tools to enable work teams to be productive and highly successful in achieving positive outcomes. You will act as a help chain to the team, guiding the execution of work, and utilising your problem-solving skills to assist the work team to achieve outstanding maintenance outcomes within the embedded safety culture.
Core activities of you as a Supervisor will be:
- The effective coordination of resources to enable the work groups to achieve short-term and long-term business plans- Implement and achieve sustained improvements in problem solving through your leadership- Improve the overall effectiveness of the work group by improving their capability, accountability, and applied effort, inclusive of quality- Achieve financial objectives through improved efficiencies within the work group.- You will enjoy meeting challenges and working with a diverse group to develop and implement strategies across our work groups.
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Strong team leadership qualities translating into a deep demonstration and commitment to safety and the environment,- The initiative and self-motivation to excel in working with mínimal supervision,- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills,- A strong maintenance background is essential, as is workshop experience managing rebuilds of gearboxes / pumps / valves, machining, and fabrication.- Experience in implementing and leading change initiatives is imperative.- A certificate in Front Line Management or similar experience would be highly regarded.
